The Secrets of Sleep

We're the worst sleepers in Europe, apparently. Add that to our list of dubious honours. A third of Britons, according to this series, have sleep problems. But why? My guess is it's down to us being the least healthy/most stressed population on the continent. This opener follows a quartet of red-eyed unfortunates, with disorders including nightmares, paralysis and sleepwalking. Can the team arm them in their battle against nocturnal misery?

The neuroscience of sleep is still in its infancy, but as the patients check in to the clinic, you suspect there'll be some happy endings. This is TV Land, after all, where dreams tend to come true.
