The 25-part series was commissioned by CBeebies controller Kay Benbow and will be executive produced by Julia Bond for CBeebies and Sarah Trigg for 7 Wonder, with series producer Romily Menzies.

In each episode Moate will explore the workings of everyday objects by looking at how they are made or how they work, backed up by graphics and special camera technology.

7 Wonder executive producer Sarah Trigg said: “There is nothing out there really that is set so firmly in the real world and unpacking so much surprising detail for this age group.

“We are always seeking to broaden our creative output into new sectors, and this, our first commission with CBeebies is a direct reflection of that ambition, as our first venture into kids TV.”

Earlier this year, BBC2 commissioned a 6 x 30-minute multi-strand consumer series hosted by Cherry Healeyfrom 7 Wonder.

It follows previous commissions from ITVChannel 4 and Sky from the 7 Network Australia-backed indie, which was established by Alex Fraser and Liza Abbott in March 2014.
